Even travel websites that don’t focus solely on student travel have great student travel deals. Make sure you do a thorough internet search for travel companies that offer cheaper airline and train tickets for students. Look out for student travel coupons and discounts on travel packages.

2. Book Student Travel Early: “The early bird catches the worm” stands true for saving money while booking your spring break. Spring Breaks are considered peak travel times and therefore bargain hotel and airfare prices are harder to find at the last minute. If you wait until the last minute, there will be limited availability and super high prices, so to get the best deal at reasonable prices, book early.

3. Consider Student Travel Packages: Ever heard of an all inclusive package? Choosing one might not be such a bad idea. All inclusive travel packages include airfare, hotel, food and additional activities at bargain prices. When it comes to spring break, this might be an ideal choice. The initial pricing of the package might appear to cost more, but when you analyze the overall expenses, you might end up saving a good amount of money.

These days travel companies often offer package deals that include travel, accommodations, meals and sometimes entrance at nightclubs. You can also investigate package deals that include tours of the area you are visiting and daytime recreation.

4. Staying in a Hostel Versus a Hotel Room: One of the best ways to save cash is to stay at hostels, rather than hotels. Hostels normally allow you to rent a shared room, as well as share common areas, kitchen and bathrooms. Hostels are considerably cheaper than staying in hotels and give you an opportunity to meet other travelers. In the event the hostel you want to stay at is unavailable, you can always book a hotel room and check the maximum occupancy to find out if you can share the room with your other spring break buddies.

5. Alternative Ideas for Spring Break Travelers: Taking a backpacking trip or a cruise might be a great, affordable way to go. In case you do not want spend your time visiting popular tourist destinations and prefer to hit local nightclubs and explore the destination you’re visiting. Other spring break ideas include volunteer work, eco-tourism, or green travel. Not only will you get to know the locals, you’ll participate in creating a better environment.

6. Consider a Road Trip: Though gas prices may be at an all time high, when you have some likeminded spring break buddies to share the ride and expenses with, a road trip is bound to be more fun and it’s a great money saving option.

7. Be Flexible: Being flexible with your travel plans is a great way to save money. Traveling during weekends can cost a bit more. Instead of rushing through your itinerary, carefully select the dates and days for your travel. This will save you some money on your travel, so you can spend it on spring break.

8. Bring your own food: Normally we don’t consider the added expense of food while travelling, but more often than not it can put a huge dent in your budget. Eating out is costly. Bring snacks and other food to eat, so that you don’t have to pay to eat out. And, or opt for hotels that have refrigerators in the room, this way you can buy some groceries when you get into town. Note: If you’re traveling abroad, bringing food is probably not an option that will be available to you.

9. Using Public Transportation: Using public transportation, like buses, rails, subways, etc., is not only a great way to save money, but also the most convenient way to explore a destination. Public transport also offers an opportunity to learn more about the destination you’re visiting.

10. Limit Alcohol Consumption: There are many reasons to avoid alcohol consumption and excessive drinking, not only is it expensive, it’s not terribly safe. If you’re going to drink, limit the amount of drinks you buy in clubs or on the beach, as these drinks will be particularly expensive.
